I heart One Kid
There are many great things about my job – in fact, there are so many great things about my job I could write an entire post on how much I love my job – but one of the really great parts is finding new brands to carry in the store. I found One Kid 3 seasons ago (that means spring 2009, because after that there was fall 2009 and now we are in spring 2010). My first delivery was girls’ clothes in sizes 2-6, and I had ordered 2 mix & match outfits. It was the nicest cotton I had EVER unpacked! It was soft, it was thick, it was put together nicely (ie. good-looking seams, no loose strings, etc.) and if it had all come in a quilt, I would have taken it home to sleep with. I made everybody that worked for me at the time touch it; then I made random customers touch it, even if it was the wrong size and they had no interest in girls’ clothes. Fabulous. Which brings us to spring 2010 and the boys outfit that has just been loaded onto the website. It’s not my normal buy, nor is it what I normally put on my son. Most days in the winter, he looks like he needs a skateboard to complete his outfit and in the summer, a surfboard. However! The One Kid gear – while slightly preppier than what I prefer – will be perfect should we have a wedding to go to, or get invited out to dinner somewhere nice. I look forward to showing off my handsome son in his handsome clothes.
